You might be wondering exactly how I came up with the characters that were chosen for each sign since the in game year does not equally correspond to the earthly year. ConcernedApe gave the characters birthdays and they are very important to them in the game so I tried two different methods to divide the characters up as equally as I could. The first method did not produce the most balanced outcome so I did end up using the second method.
The First Method
The first method comprised of correlating the months of SDV's year into the earth year chronologically as follows:
- Aries = Spring 1-9
- Taurus = Spring 10-19. (Haley)
- Gemini = Spring 20-28 (Shane, Emily)
- Cancer = Summer 1-9
- Leo = Summer 10-19 (Alex, Sam, Maru)
- Virgo= Summer 20-28
- Libra = Fall 1-9 (Elliot, Penny)
- Scorpio = Fall 10-19 (Abigail)
- Sagittarius = Fall 20-28
- Capricorn = Winter 1-9
- Aquarius = Winter 10-19 (Harvey, Sebastian)
- Pisces = Winter 20-28 (Leah)
As you can see, this produced a very uneven distribution of the characters and I did not feel like this was the best way to interpret the data. This led me to divide the characters up in a different way, since there were twelve characters and twelve zodiac signs there should be an even divide with one character per sign.
The Second Method
The Second Method comprised of assigning one of the four zodiac elements to each season in the game, and then choosing three characters per element to represent each of the three zodiac signs in each traditional element. Some characters were kept in their original sign as indicated using the above method and some were altered to best suit their personality. I also had to make sure that there was at least one male and one female per element for the greatest compatibility outcomes.
